TEAM JAGDAIM CONTINUES WINNING STREAK

The JAGDAIM Motorsport team of Wheeler/Redel continued its winning form of 2006 with another 1-2 podium at Sandown International Racetrack.

2006 Sprinter Champion, Brian Wheeler opened his 2007 campaign with his third lap timed at 1.29.59, just outside his existing lap record for Sandown.  Co-driver, Dirk Redel was second fastest with 1.32.22.  Phil Pearmain 1.33.43 and Rob Sinclair 1.33.92 were next fastest and both would continue this duel throughout the day.  MacKrell was next with 1.35.89, followed by Duncalf 1.38.65, Kenna 1.42.23, Crosbie 1.42.98 and Hugh Sinclair who was lapped with a best time of 1.47.27.

John Larkins 1.46.94 took the points from his son Anthony 1.48.81 in the Lites category.

Wheeler (1.30.29), Redel (1.32.99) and Duncalf (1.39.41) were all slower in the second session.  However, the rest of the field were faster with both Rob Sinclair and Pearmain continuing their own race with synchronized lap times of 1.33.04 on lap two and 1.33.48 on lap three.  MacKrell 1.34.91 was ahead of a faster Kenna 1.39.20, Hugh Sinclair 1.42.06 and Crosbie 1.42.33.

In the Lites there were no changes with John’s 1.46.01 faster than Anthony’s 1.48.48.

In the final timed session Wheeler’s best time of 1.30.30 was still quicker than Redel who recorded his fastest lap for the day with 1.31.67.  Third fastest was Rob Sinclair who was lapping with consistency as his third lap time of 1.33.04 was exactly the same as he recorded in the previous session.  Pearmain was next with 1.34.36 and he can only wonder if it would have been faster as he only managed two laps.  Phil was lapped by the ex Perkins Jack Daniel’s race car as he completed his second lap.  Trevor MacKrell was fifth fastest with his best time for the day 1.34.75, followed by Paul Duncalf 1.37.82, Barry Kenna 1.41.29, Mike Crosbie 1.42.00 and High Sinclair 1.43.21.

The Larkins battle for Lites continued with father John still in front of Anthony with respective times of 1.46.50 and 1.48.09. Phil Pearmain had the lap of the day in the final Super Sprint.  Phil has had doubts about his braking markers but after talking with Brian Wheeler and tucking in behind a Mustang, Phil recorded his first ever sub 1.30 lap.  Phil’s time of 1.29.37 was the fastest of the day for Sprinters and just outside the lap record 1.29.26.
